 DEMASK
- A BRIEF HISTORY
DeMask is the largest manufacturer of rubber and leather clothing
in the world. Founded by Steve English in Derby England in 1984,
the company has grown considerably over the years until now it is
a multi-national concern employing over 75 people on two continents.
The rapid growth and success under the helm of Mr. English can be
looked upon as an inspiration to any student of business. Any article
of clothing or equipment with the DeMask label is synonymous with
quality, a must in the highly competitive nature of today's business
climate. In 1989 the first retail shop opened in Amsterdam.
Located on the Zeedijk in the heart of the city's old quarter, the
store began with a staff of two with a small workshop in the basement.
Since then the workshop has moved on several occasions to larger premises
in order to keep up with the ever increasing demand for it's products.
Known for it's corsets in both leather and rubber, DeMask also produces
an entire line of high fashion items, outer-wear, coats, dresses,
lounge-wear, uniforms, lingerie, and the list is endless. DeMask is
in a league of it's own, no other firm in the world can offer the
diversity of gear. Catsuits, hoods, capes, robes and a complete line
of inflatable items round out the arsenal.
DeMask now has it's headquarters in Haarlem. Within it's own building
are the administration offices, design dept, distribution and a
smal production facilities, video & photographic studio and
digital publishing suite.
Demask Has recently established a new manufacturing facility in
Ostrava, Czech Republic. With over 50 people producing for a World-wide
wholesale customers who number over 600 along with mail order clients
of over 12,000. Sales from an extensive web site are mailed out
daily to every corner of the earth. And the four Demask Stores.
